Today’s crossword was a bit more challenging than yesterday’s.
Compound word answers are always the devil, but luckily “Every So Often”, “Good Old Days”, “Does Wonders” and “Fine and Dandy” weren’t too hard to come up with. Once those were in place, the rest fell in. We had “Eire” instead of “Erin” for Ireland, but we resolved it in the end.
Today’s theme was “people of note”, but we wouldn’t know that, since we print the crossword off the net, and we don’t get the hints that the actual crossword has, in the actual NYT.
Words we learned: “Ezio” for Ezio Pinza and “Azo” for azo dye. Also, “Lyn” Nofziger was a former White House adviser. The effluence of trivial knowledge continues!
