As a member of the SA in Australia I cannot comment on what happens in the USA, however there will always be imperfection when any large numbers of humans gather together. The SA in Australia is also not perfect but I believe they are doing a great job on the whole with their stewardship of Public money. Our financial controllers are in my experience, very dedicated to ensuring everything is above board and transparent from an auditing perspective. I have been working for the SA full time for 3 years and am constanly amazed at the commitment of the Headquartes team in doing the right thing by all contributors. As far as the ministers go here they are paid roughly $7 an hour and yes they get a home for the duration of their ministry but they pay their own electricity, water, holidays, school fees, recreational expenses, clothing, uniforms etc out of that $7. And when they leave they leave behind furnishings, house, the lot to the next minister that comes into that position. They are on call 24/7 and yet are subject to all kinds of criticism from the the people they minister to and help if they are seen to take time out for a coffee or break. Of course there is always the possibility that someone will work for the SA and do the wrong thing but that possibility exists because we are generally open to taking on all kinds of people in a non judgemental way.

While we have our beliefs on many issues such as abortion, homosexuality, suicide, euthanasia etc we also respect the beliefs of others. Our beliefs are never shoved down anyones throat and our help is not subject to anyones acceptance or non acceptance of these beliefs. Basically we try to live as Jesus lived in tolerance and peace with others, mixing with and helping in particular those people whom no one else is interested in. I trust your experience with the SA in the future will be that of heart to God and hand to man.

I worked for the salvation army as a custodian. As a christian church this place should be embarrassed. Every friday the employees there take it upon themselves to close in the afternoon leaving the community without anything to eat. People get turned away there constantly for food or a helping hand. You cannot even stay there without proper idenitifcation. Last friday 07/02/2010 I came across a distraught elderly couple that had no idea the food shelf wasnt open on friday and with no means to come back today, so being a kind hearted person I tried to give them some food, in the process of filling a food shelf order I was caught and yelled at severley for it. I found out this morning that I was fired. Fired for trying to give an elderly couple something to eat

this is my testimony, i am a wretch, i've been in prison, and homeless for 2 years, my 'blood' have rejected me, but my corp accepted me, while homeless and unemployable, the army hired me to ring a bell, providing me in 5 weeks what i earned in a year collecting cans, more valuable to me, is the hundreds of positve remarks from donors compared to the maybe 5 negative remarks, that said, those christians keeping quiet about corruption anywhere will answer to god

I really feel sorry for you man. Over $400, you really do not deserve that kind of treatment. My father is with RBC, definitely NOT going with RBC for anything. If I was your attorney, I would definitely file for maybe: theft under $5000, fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of contract possibly?? breach of fiduciary duty, damages or recission, opportunity cost for potential lost business over this stupid crap RBC situation.

I am realyy sorry to read so many bad things about the SA. Please go and read the whole thing on the web site of the SA as for the official postions !
However no human organisation is perfect and the SA is certainly not so but I can testifify as I work full time in the french Salvation Army (Armée du Salut) as an officer that I am not rich (I am not paid my self ) because the Army in France is not rich enough to pay the two of us in the couple. But I am very happy to give my whole energy and time to serve .
I do not pretend every single member of the salvation army is perfect. I do not pretend every employee of the SA is neither perfect and I am sincerely sad to read of so many having had bad experiences with us.
Having said that I am pretty sure many others could also testify of the way the SA have helped them. and when I stand near the chritmas traditional kettle to raise money, it happens that one or the other say "thank you for the help the SA gave me at one time of my life.
This encougage me to persevere in spite of bad exemples such as those I read in this Website and that I beleive they are sadly true too !
Come and help us to make the Salvation Army better ;-)

I installed the client on my debian lenny and now wfcmgr works fine.

I have installed the deb package from the citrix site, and then I have copied the required .ini file and mozilla CA as you sad.

Nevertheless when I try to open the .ica with firefox I have always this error..
"The archives required to make an SSL connection are not available. Please contact your MetaFrame administrator."

Have any idea to resolve this issue?

RBC.. I've been with them for 19 years. My son died last year, the funeral costs were astronomical. Then came the grieving which took over my whole life. I took a year off work as I couldn't think straight and had a small amount of money coming in. I do have a gold card, I do have a RBC Homeline of credit.

But, in this past year, I've struggled paying RBC Visa's and have missed a few payments, but always make good on them, just a little late at times.

Well, just the other day, I went in to pay my mortgage, yes, they own my house too, and I noticed my Homeline of Credit had been lowered by half, leaving me with no credit. No one had told me this was going to happen, I phoned and was abrubtly yelled at by some credit guy, in some town, somewhere, and told that I should not have the right to the equity loan on my home as I've been late paying my credit cards on occassion. With that, and a flick of the switch on his handy computer, he changed my life completely.

I pay my mortgage religiously and the homeline loan is connected to the mortgage, so I asked who made this decision by phoning another department at the RBC. I was told the guy's name and asked if he was "their leader" in other words, and they said no, but he can make this decision if he feels like it.

I'm fighting it as I don't deserve this treatment, this is an equity loan on my home which I've had for 6 years and was being paid promptly and has nothing to do with Visa.

So, it came down to the fact that this "guy" who was in a bad mood, and didn't like me asking him not to yell at me and not to be rude, made a personal decision to "get me" without asking any questions on why after all the years of being a "valued customer" hmmm, I was having trouble paying my Visa on time.

I'm getting a lawyer. The RBC do what ever they want, whenever they want, and we the people don't count.

I WANT TO THANK THE SALVATION ARMY FOR OPENING THE EYES TO MY HEART. THE SYRACUSE, NY CENTER WAS A TRUE GIFT TO ME FROM GOD. DESPITE WHAT IS SAID ABOUT CORUPT, MONEY HUNGRY AND UNFAIR PRACTICES, THIS IS ONE OF A VERY FEW PLACES THAT'S BEEN AROUND FOR 125 YEARS. THEY ARE STRAIGHT TO THE POINT, WHAT IS RIGHT. IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT THERE IS THE DOOR. THEY DON'T PUT UP WITH CORPORATE THIEFS, GOSSIP, LIARS AND SO ON... I BEEN A EXEC AGENT FOR YEARS WITH A 500 CO. AND I JUST WISHED THEY HAD INFORCED THE SAME POLICIES. WHAT ALSO GETS ME IS THE GANGBANGER THUGS WHO ENTER THE SA AND WINE AND COMPLAIN ABOUT BEING UNFAIR AND, OH, THEY R PICKING ON ME, ALSO SAYING THIS IS SLAVE LABOR. GET A GRIP YOU GOV. SYSTEM SUCKING LEACH OF A WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME PUNK. WHAT WERE YOU DOING WHEN SOME OF THE SA EMPLOYEES, MEMBERS WENT TO THE CONGO. THAT'S RIGHT YOU WERE AT YOUR LITTLE WORK THERAPY STATION WAITING THE THE LUNCH BELL SO YOU COULD HAVE A WARM LUNCH WHILE SOME OF US WERE SWINGING MACHETTES MAKING OUR WAY TO THE VILLAGE TO "DO THE MOST GOOD". ALSO A BIG THANKS TO THE ANTI SEX TRAFFICKING DEPT. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. FOR THOSE WHO SAY THEY ARE UNFAIR, AND DON'T LIKE A CERTAIN TYPE OF PERSONS LIFE CHOICES. IT'S A CHOICE, THE BIBLE IS RIGHT IN EVERY WAY. SO IF YOU WANT TO CHOOSE TO LIVE IN SIN AND FOLLOW THE DEVIL AROUND ON A LEASH LIKE A LITTE PUPPY , NOW THATS A SLAVE. GO RIGHT AHEAD AND KEEP DOING SO BECAUSE THE SALVATION ARMY WILL ALWAYS BE HERE TO HELP YOU OUT AND FREE YOU FROM THE LEASH.

Hi, sorry if i comment an almost-an-year old article...I'm italian and i can assure you that there is no law on banning non-italian food. What Zaia meant is that foreign countries often mock up our specialities (such as Parmigiano, Mozzarella and so on, i could go on forever), and he wanted to stop THOSE from being sold, not the ethnic cuisine.

On a personal note, i love foreign food, so i was just informing you that ethnic specialities are safe, here.
Now if you'll excuse me, this article got me in the mood for some doner kebap.
